Obituary

Leonard Elmer Harmon, 84, of Asheboro, NC went home to be with his Savior and Lord Jesus Christ on Thursday, April 9, 2015. Psalms 116:15 says "Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints." Leonard closed his eyes on this planet and opened his eyes in Heaven. He was greeted in Heaven by his parents, all of his brothers, and one sister. Mr. Harmon was born in Austinville to Riley and Etta Delp Harmon, the "baby boy" of eight children and was the last surviving son of Mr. and Mrs. Harmon. In addition to his parents, brothers, Ray Harmon, Harlie Harmon, Shirley Harmon, Moyer Harmon, Lloyd Harmon, and sister, Ilene Deatherage, Mr. Harmon was also preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Rotenizer Harmon. Leonard loved the Harmon family and his own family and they all loved him. He loved to listen to Earl Scruggs bluegrass music and was a member of a bluegrass band named The Pine Ridge Boys when he was young. Mr. Leonard was saved at a young age and loved to study the Bible. He loved the Lord and was faithful to Him. Some of his favorite bible verses were: John 1:12, John 3:16, John 6:37, Romans 10:9 and Romans 10:13. Survivors include his daughters, Mrs. Deborah Cheek and husband, Lewis of Randleman, NC and Janet Harmon of Asheboro; son Roger Harmon of Asheboro; and sister, Frieda Friski of Bristol, VA. The family wishes to thank Dr. Schultz and his office, Randolph Hospital, and Wake Forest Baptist Hospital and all their staffs for their wonderful help with Leonard.
