Leon Jessup, 86, of Meadows of Dan, passed away on Monday, November 3, 2014 at Heritage Hall Laurel Meadows. Mr. Jessup was born in Carroll County to the late Johnny and Maude Harrell Jessup. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sister, Fleda Martin. Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Leeila Jessup of the home; sons and daughters-in-law, Garry and Janice Jessup of Hillsville and Wayne and Denise Jessup of Galax; grandchildren, Barry Jessup, Tabitha Smith, Denean Jessup and Kenny Jessup; step grandchildren, Clarissa Lineberry and Corey Lineberry; five great grandchildren; and three step great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 6, 2014 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 11:00 AM with Rev. Winston Puckett officiating. Burial will follow in the Reed Island Springs Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, November 6, 2014 from 10:00 until 11:00 AM prior to the funeral service. Flowers are appreciated; however, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Reed Island Springs Cemetery care of Danny Turman 4081 Bellspur Road, Meadows of Dan, VA 24120.
