Lena Louise Dalton, 79, of Dugspur, VA, passed away on Friday, October 30, 2015 at Heritage Hall/ Laurel Meadows Nursing Home. She was born May 30, 1936 to the late William (Willie) & Mattie Turman McGrady. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by three sisters, Wellie Dean McGrady, Peggy Cox, and Cova Lea Dalton, and her beloved husband, Wendell Dalton. She is survived by two nieces, and a foster brother and several cousins. Louise worked with her dad and mom at Willie's drive-in along with her sister for many years. Louise also worked at Carroll Drug, and retired in 1999 as a supervisor at Quality Mills/Cross Creek. Louise loved the Lord and was a long time member at Mt. Hebron Baptist Church and looked forward to going every Sunday. Sickness did not stop her. The members of the church were her family, as well as the love she has of her family and the many friends she acquired over the years. There was not a person she ran into that she did not know. Louise loved music and was a wonderful singer in her own right. Louise loved flowers and so much enjoyed being out in her yard, attending the details of her flowers and keeping the yard mowed. Louise was an advocate for organ donors so her wishes were to donate her body to science to further the education of the body and mind to help save the lives of others. A memorial service will be held at Mt. Hebron Baptist Church in Willis, VA on Saturday, November 14, 2015 at 1:00 PM with Pastor Rocky Sutphin and Pastor Jerry Blevins officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the charity of your choice or to Mt. Hebron Baptist Church. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
