Lawrence E. Grigg, 88 of Hillsville, passed away on Sunday, November 8, 2015 at Twin County Regional Hospital. Mr. Grigg was born in Shelby, NC to the late Peter Franklin and Gertrude Hamrick Grigg. In addition to his parents, Mr. Grigg was also preceded in death by three brothers, Charles Lee Grigg, Boyd F. Grigg, and Carl S. Grigg; and one sister, Pearl G. McLean. Survivors include his wife, Carolyn G. Grigg of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Lynn and Marcus Ogle of Woodlawn; son, David L. Grigg of Greenville, SC; grandson and spouse, Andrew and Krystal Cockerham and great grandson, Liam Cockerham all of Dayton, OH; sister-in-law, Evelyn H. Grigg of Morgantown, NC; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 11:00 AM with Rev. Michael Shockley officiating. Burial will follow in Wilkinson Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10:00 until 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hillsville First Baptist Church or to the Fries High School Sports Convention Scholarship Fund. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
