Laura Olive Goad, 81 of Dugspur, passed away on Monday, January 3, 2011 at Blue Ridge Nursing Center in Stuart. Mrs. Goad was born in Carroll County to the late Lonnie and Tobitha Moles Goad. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband Donno Lee Goad. Mrs. Goad is survived by her children Darrell Davis Goad and wife Brenda of Hillsville, Yvonne Lea Goad of Dugspur, Marie Goad Thomas and husband Geoffrey of Norfolk, and Rita Goad Bowling and husband Darrell of Stuart; brother Keith Goad of Dugspur; sisters Arneda Mesics of Dugspur, Agnes Ignudo of Wilmington, Delaware, Sarah Lou Vaughn of Stuart, and Jean Shropshire of Ridgeway; and two grandchildren Richmond Richie Cole Thomas and Spencer Jonathan Thomas.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 6, 2011 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 2:00 PM with Elder Tim McGrady and Rev. Elmon Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in the Reece Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday one hour before the funeral service.
