Laura Effie Bryant , 90, of Hillsville, passed away on Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at Trinity Mission of Hillsville. Mrs. Bryant was born in Carroll County to the late Samuel and Amisittie Semones Marshall. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Calvin George Bryant; grandson, Timothy Jett; son-in-law, Elvin Worrell; seven brothers and five sisters.

Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda and Ricky Smith of Lambsburg, Margaret and Erroll Rhea Jett of Hillsville, and Bonnie and Marvin Edwards of Hillsville; son and daughter-in-law, Calvin Wayne and Charlotte Bryant of Hillsville; seven grandchildren; six step grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and one great-great grandson.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with Pastor Jeff Pickett officiating. Burial will follow in the Woodlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM prior to the funeral service.  Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
