LaSalle W. Jacobs, II (Jake), 74 of Hillsville, passed away in his home on July 3, 2013. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Ina Dalton Jacobs of the home; two children, Wendy Jacobs of Low Gap and Bevan Jacobs of Hillsville; two brothers, Dennis Jacobs of Pt. Charlotte, FL and Bevan Jacobs of Kekaha, HI; and several nieces and nephews. Jake was born in Pittsburg, PA to the late LaSalle and Madeline Jacobs on June 19, 1939. He was a US Coast Guard Veteran. He was retired from the Federal Government and was a certified rescue diver and boat captain. Jake was a substance abuse counselor, worked for the census bureau, worked on several research projects, and enjoyed driving for Jeff Johnson Chevrolet. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2013 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 2:00 PM with Rev. Myron Dalton officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
