Larry Ray Proffit, 62, of Dublin, passed away on Wednesday, December 26, 2012 at his home. Mr. Proffit was born in Bradshaw, WV to the late Troy Ray and Annie Roe Proffit. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Gale Proffit. Survivors include his children, Jerry Walter Proffit of North Carolina, Bonnie Jean "B.J." Stillwell of Pulaski, Troy Ray Proffit of Dublin, and Eric David Proffit or Roanoke; brothers, Tommy Proffit of West Virginia, Joe Bill Proffit of Virginia, and Frank Proffit of Michigan; sisters Jean Troy of Florida, Ruth Rooush of Tennessee, and Loraine Hanson of Florida; seven grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 31, 2012 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 2:00 PM with Gary Tibbs officiating. Burial will follow in the North End Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM prior to the funeral service. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
