Lance Dale (LD) McGrady, 79, of Dugspur, Va., passed away on Friday, January 19th,2018 at his home. Mr. McGrady was born in Carroll County to the late Richard Hobert and Myrtie Ellen Dickerson McGrady.

LD is survived by his wife, Sandra Gallimore McGrady, of the home; son, Gregory Dale, of Dugspur, Va.; daughter and son-in-law, Susan Katherine and Steve Crockett, of Dublin, Va.; son and daughter-in-law, Allen Dean and Tara Marie McGrady of Callaway, Va.; son Philip Lance of Whitefish, Montana; grandsons, Jake Crockett, Evan McGrady, Mason McGrady; granddaughter, Katherine Crockett; great-grandson, Haiden Matthew; sisters-in-law, Faye McGrady, of Roanoke, Vesta McGrady, of Hillsville, sister-in-law, Lois Jean McGrady of Hillsville; sisters and brother in law; Hulen Banks, of Hillsville, Bonnie Vass, of Hillsville, and Nancy Lee and Russell Goad of Willis; brother-in-law and spouse, Bill and Linda Gallimore of Hillsville, sister-in-law, Betty Gallimore, brother-in-law, David Gallimore and a host of surviving nieces and nephews.

LD was proceeded in death by brothers, Clayton, Herbert and Jack; nephews, Richard Banks, Terry Vass, Jimmy Vass, Mark Vass, Stuart (Petey) Vass and Danny Nester.

Mr. McGrady served his country in the U.S. Army. He was stationed in Berlin, Germany and patrolled the Berlin Wall.

Visitation will be held on Sunday,January 21, 2018 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM.   Burial services will be held at 2:00 PM at the Gallimore/Thompson Family Cemetery on Monday, January 22, 2018. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
