Lacie H. Kemp, age 100 of Dugspur, Virginia, passed away on Tuesday, May 18, 2010 at Ascention Hospice House in South Carolina. Mrs. Kemp was born in Floyd County to the late Giles & Nancy Nester Harris. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband Herman D. Kemp; sister Effie H. Williams; and brothers Clarence Harris and Quentin Harris. She is survived by her children Jane Kemp Webb and husband Frank Webb of South Carolina and H.D. Kemp & wife Renate Kemp of Roanoke; sisters Euna Cassell & husband J.L. Cassell and Beulah Johnson all of Roanoke; sisters-in-law Glenna Branscome of Hillsville, Deane Harris of Berryville, VA, and Izella Kemp of Florida; grandchildren Dean Kemp, Marcia Webb Camp, Melanie Webb Schroeder, and Lisa Kemp Carter; and great grandchildren Reece Kemp, Tyler Kemp, Grace Carter, Jackson Carter, and Joshua Camp.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 22, 2010 at 1:00 PM at Buffalo Mountain Presbyterian Church, where she was the oldest charter member, with Pastor Bob Tolar officiating. Mrs. Kemp will lie in state at the church one hour before services begin. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, May 21, 2010 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel.
