Kendall Heath Dalton, 52 of Hillsville, passed away on Tuesday, December 6, 2022 at Johnson City Medical Center. Mr. Dalton was born in Mount Airy, NC to the late Ronnie Lee and Maybellene Goad Dalton.

Survivors include his children, Cambria Dalton and Daniel Heath Dalton; brother, Ronnie Lee Dalton, Jr. (Melissa) and Charlene Isom (Richard); and grandchildren, Kyrie Jones, Adalynn Brown, and Ariah Brown; and several other family members.

Kendall...where do I start? I could say that I am sorry and heartbroken that your life was cut way too short (because that is how I really feel). But I know that right now you are experiencing such peace that you would not want to come back. For all the things you endured in this life, all the heartbreak and disappointment, it is ok. Jesus has explained it all to you and you understand now. I also know that you are so happy to be reunited with your mom and dad and grandparents who loved you dearly. What an awesome reunion!!! I am so sad, but comforted by these thoughts.

I will always remember how hard you worked when your children were growing up. And all the special things you did for them. One of many things that come to mind is how you would stand in line at 3 or 4 AM on Black Friday to get them whatever they wanted for Christmas. You loved your children dearly.

You were a self-made man with knowledge and skills that surpassed formal education. You had a heart to help others.

You were the biggest and strongest man in our family. But you could not attend a wedding or funeral without ugly crying through the ceremony. (This memory makes me smile....such a big softie)

I will always remember your dimples when you smiled and your kind eyes.

Rest in peace, Kendall, until we meet again.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 9, 2022 at the Hillsville Pentecostal Holiness Church at 11:00 AM with Pastor Jeff Pickett officiating. The family will receive friends at the church on Friday from 10:00 until 11:00 AM prior to the memorial service. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
