Kathy Ellen Shockley, 56, of Woodlawn, passed away on Monday, May 06, 2013 at Twin County Regional Hospital. Mrs. Shockley was born on December 13, 1956 in Galax, Virginia and was preceded in death by her father, Bobby Dean Mabe. Survivors include her husband, Jerry Shockley of the home; step son and spouse, Brad and Amy Shockley and granddaughter, Aubrianna Shockley of Burlington, NC; mother, Virginia Jenkins Mabe of Hillsville; brother, Bernard Mabe of Hillsville; nieces, spouses, and children: Kristina, Mike, Kendra, and Ariyanna Durnil; Kodie, Travis, Kailey, and Macy White; and Kasey, Brian, and Kyra Moser; and special pet, Bear. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at 3:00 PM at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with Pastor Donald Fox and Elder Edward Bowman officiating. Burial will follow in the Mabe Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday beginning at 1:00 pm and lasting until service time. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the Shockley family.
