Kathy Vires Carico, 53 of Woodlawn, passed away on Tuesday, August 23, 2022 at Novant Forsyth Medical Center. Mrs. Carico was born in Radford, Virginia to the late Eddie Wayne and Edith Altizer Vires. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by two brothers, Eddie (Dee) Vires and Michael Vires.

Survivors include her husband, Delane Carico; son, Justin Carico; step-daughter, Shonda Carico; sister, Melinda Azbell; father-in-law, Larry Earon Carico; sister-in-law and spouse, Drs. Kerri and Anthony Gray; special friend, Chelsey Snavely; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 30, 2022 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 2:00 PM with Pastor Mike Wells officiating. Burial will follow in the Ellis Melton Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM prior to the funeral service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Kidney Fund 11921 Rockville Pike, Suite 300, Rockville, MD 20852. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
