Kathryn Marie Smart, 68 of Laurel Fork, formerly of West Brattleboro, VT and the daughter of the late Harold Benedict, passed away Thursday, March 9, 2006 at Northern Hospital of Surry County. Mrs. Smart is survived by her daughter & son-in-law Karlene & Donald Dalton of Laurel Fork; son Philip Smart of Columbus, OH; mother Ruth Benedict; sister & brother-in-law Constance & Francis Shearer of Bethany, NC; 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at Crooked Oak Missionary Baptist Church on Saturday, March 11, 2006 at 5:00 P.M. with Rev. Oscar Hill officiating. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Crooked Oak Missionary Baptist Church % Connie Nester 431 Link Drive, Hillsville, VA 24343.
