Kathryn Harmon Fields, 63, of Woodlawn, VA passed away on Thursday, February 2, 2023 at Duke Medical Center in Durham, NC. She was born February 27, 1959 in Radford, VA to the late Lelon Dent Harmon and Ilene Smythers Harmon.

She is survived by her husband, Douglas Stewart Fields; sister Nancy Harmon Petersen of Knoxville, TN and Brenda Harmon Rohe; brother-in-law, George W. Rohe of Charlotte, NC; nieces, Anna Cormier of Knoxville, TN, Sara Staley and husband Alwyn Staley of Knoxville, TN, Allison Waters of Charlotte, NC, Laura Moody and husband Dave Moody of Charlotte, NC; and many local relatives.

Kathy Fields received her Masters Degree from Radford University in Speech Pathology. She enjoyed providing over 34 years of serving Elementary age children through her teaching career in North Carolina and Virginia. She loved reading, viewing the wildlife at her home, watching Jeopardy, and questioning the answers and traveling with her husband. Kathy also enjoyed fellowship with her High School friends.

A Graveside Service and Burial will be held on Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at 2:00 PM at the Wilkinson Memorial Cemetery in Hillsville, Virginia with Pastor Scott Flippin officiating. The family will receive friends at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM on Wednesday, February 8, 2023.
