Kathleen Marie Stone Gravley, 91, of Greensboro, NC, formerly of Carroll County, VA, passed away peacefully on November 17, 2017. She was preceded in death by her parents Pierce and Stella Stone, husband of 53 years Willie W. Gravley, three brothers, Bill Stone, Carroll Stone, Clyde Stone, three sisters, Opal Horton, Clara Gills, Lois Chapman, brothers-in-law Omer Horton, George Gills, Warren Chapman, nephew Bobby Gills, and close friends Ila and June Lineberry, and Bolen Newman.

She is survived by a daughter, Pat M. Gravley of Greensboro, NC, sisters-in-law Gladys Stone, Eleanor Stone, Joyce Stone, nieces Linda Sharpe, Donna Agnew, Suzanne MacInnis, Janet Kimble, Jennifer Tuell, Cynthia Angell, Barbara Tambourelli, nephews Tomm Stone, Barry Horton, George Gills, Dane Chapman, Tim Chapman, nephews-in-law Jeff Angell and Mark Tuell, nieces-in-law Donna Stone, Molly Horton, Thu Nguyen, Michelle Chapman, two great nieces, eleven great nephews, four great-great nieces, four great-great nephews, and Special Friends Lucille Newman, Karen Meyers, Pansy Howell, Linda Davis, Catherine DeLappe, Carroll and Wilma Bowman, Janice and Melda, Bertha and Troy Marshall, Virginia King, the Gallimore family, all members of the Round Knob Church of Christ, and multiple friends and caregivers from Carolina Estates, Brighton Gardens, Carriage House, and her namesake Kathy Austin.

She was a longstanding member of the Round Knob Church of Christ. She, her husband, brother Bill Stone and sister-in-law Gladys Stone previously owned and operated Stone's Grocery, North End Grocery, and Gladeville Grocery many years ago.  She also enjoyed her time working for Northwest Foods in the Hanes Plant in Galax, and made many special friends during that time.  She enjoyed gardening and baking for her friends and family, who particularly loved her made from scratch chocolate and butterscotch pies.  She loved laughing and spending time with friends and family, including times at Clara's cabin and traveling with Sunshine Tours, which was owned by her brother Carroll Stone, as well as receiving "goodie" boxes from Linda, Suzanne, and Jennifer and the many cards and gifts she received from her many friends and family members.  Mrs. Gravley was an amazing Mother, Daughter, Wife, Sister, and Aunt.  She was a special person who made friends easily and will be missed by many.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at 1:00 PM at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with Pastor Ton Stone officiating. Burial will follow in Monta Vista Memory Gardens.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 12:00 until 1:00 PM prior to the funeral service. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
