Kathern Cox, 69 of Mount Airy, NC passed away on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, NC. Mrs. Cox was born in Mount Airy, NC to the late Shirley Everton and Virgie Suzanna Marshall Cox.

Survivors include her 30-year companion, Mack Stewart of Mount Airy, NC; and daughters and son-in-law, Karen (Suzanne) Stewart of Mount Airy, NC and Michelle and Brian Taylor of Clemmons, NC.

A graveside service with burial following will be held on Friday, February 3, 2017 at the Marshall Cemetery on Excelsior School Road in Laurel Fork at 12:30 PM with Elder Brian Johnson officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel from 11:00 to 12:00PM prior to the graveside service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephry Road, Dobson, NC 27017. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
