Katherine Wright Johnson, 84 of Hillsville, passed away on Monday, May 11, 2009 at Golden Living Center Blue Ridge. Mrs. Johnson was born in Salem, Virginia to the late Thomas & Alva Horton Wright. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Robert C. Johnson; two sons Ronnie Eugene Johnson and David Wayne Johnson; two sisters Etta Mae Sarver and Jean Dowdy; and six brothers Albert Wright, James Wright, William Wright, Olen Wright, Harold Wright, and Claude Wright. She is survived by her daughter & son-in-law Nancy & Robert Walk of Wytheville; sisters & brother-in-law Betty Ruth Edwards of Hillsville and Alice & Charles McMillian of Hillsville; and granddaughter Whitney Walk.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 13, 2009 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 7:00 PM. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the memorial service.
