Karen Marie Green O'Brien McNutt, formerly of Winston Salem, and Walnut Cove, passed away on Saturday, December 8, 2012 in Asheville, NC. Ms. McNutt was the daughter of Robert and Janice Green of Laurel Fork, VA. She was previously employed by Wake Forest Baptist Health as a respiratory care therapist, having graduated from Mott Community College in Flint, MI. Survivors include her mother, Janice Green, and daughters Elizabeth O'Brien of Laurel Fork, and Katie O'Brien and fiancé, Chris Tuttle of Kernersville; granddaughter Alaya Nataleigh Tuttle, as well as her former husbands John O'Brien and Steven McNutt, along with sister, Debbie Sonnenschein and her husband Carl, of Winston Salem, NC. Private services were held on Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at 1:00 PM at the home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to a preferred charity of choice. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
