Karen Shupe Hughes, 61, of Woodlawn, passed away on Monday, March 21, 2016 at Lewis Gale Medical Center. Mrs. Hughes was born in New York on December 31, 1954. She was preceded in death by her father, Marvin Beverly Shupe and her husband, Joseph H. Hughes, Jr.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Bryan Felts of Woodlawn; mother, Gladys Louise Underwood Shupe of Woodlawn; step children, Joseph H. Hughes, III of Indian Valley and Kimberly Mayer of Grayson County; grandchildren, Hunter Hoback, Blake Hughes, Brooke Hughes, Logan Felts, Christian Mayer, and Steven Mayer; one step great grandchild; and special cousin, Sharon Lineberry.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 25, 2016 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 2:00 PM with Rev. Jim Longest and Brother Clinton Funk officiating. Burial will follow in Monta Vista Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM prior to the funeral service. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
