Karen S. Horton, 59 of Hillsville, passed away on Sunday, December 19, 2021 at Lewis Gale Medical Center in Salem. Mrs. Horton was born in Pulaski, Virginia to the late Coy and Nancy Ryan Stoots. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her sister, Lynn Freeman; and three children Shelly Hines, Brian Hines and Chaifen Hines.

Survivors include her husband, Gary L. Horton of the home; sons and daughters-in-law, Alec and Katie Horton and Tyler and Nichol Horton and all of Hillsville; grandchildren, Bryce Horton, Roslynn Horton, Manoah Horton, and Elias Horton; brothers, Kenneth Stoots of Max Meadows and Dennis Stoots and Barbara of Floyd; and sisters, Tina Spencer and Russell of Max Meadows and Doris Alderman all of Barren Springs; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
