Junior "Johnny" Lee Ayers, 77 of Cana, passed away on Monday, September 16, 2024 at Northern Regional Hospital.  Mr. Ayers was born in Carroll County on October 22, 1946.  He was preceded in death by his father, Johnny Jefferson Ayers; mother, Marie Haynes Worrell; and step-father, Paul Worrell.

Survivors include his wife, Lura K. Ayers; son, Tony Ayers (Donna); grandchildren, Amanda Tanton and Chris Reeves and two great-grandchildren, Brandi Utt and Bradley Tanton.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 20, 2024 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 11:00 AM with Pastor Butch Holder officiating. Burial will follow in the Turner Cemetery on Turner School Road in Fancy Gap.  The family will receive friends at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel on Friday from 10:00 until 11:00 AM prior to the funeral service.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
