Julie Rose Dawson, 19, of Floyd, passed away on Monday, February 26, 2018. Julie was born in Richlands, Virginia on June 5, 1998. She was preceded in death by her father, George Charles Dawson.

Survivors include her mother, Donna Mitchell Dawson of the home; brother, Charles Dawson of Bluefield, WV; sisters, Jessica Bates and husband, David of Floyd and Grace Dawson of Floyd; paternal grandparents, Doranzo and Julie Dawson of Grundy, VA; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 2, 2018 at Floyd Baptist Church at 2:00 PM with Rev. Tom Simpkins and Rev. Jeff Hutchens officiating. Burial will follow in the Wilson Cemetery in Check. The family will receive friends at the church on Friday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM prior to the memorial service. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
