Obituary

Judy Goad King, 65, of Hillsville went to be with her Lord on Monday, December 26, 2016 at Wake Forest Medical Center.  She was preceded in death by her parents Swanson and Alee Goad.  She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Lonnie King; a son, Bryan D. King of High Point, NC; a brother, Larry Goad and wife Brenda; a sister, Joan Dalton and husband Roger all of Hillsville.  She is also survived by her two precious grandchildren, Emmett and Molly King of High Point, NC who brought great joy to "Memaw" in her last ten years.
Judy was a retired teacher who taught at Galax High School for 28 years.  She had many students to pass through her classes during that time.  She was a dedicated teacher, loving wife, mother and grandmother.  But most of all she was an inspiring Christian who loved her Lord and her church.  She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
There will be no public viewing.  There will be a graveside service at the Isaac Banks Cemetery on Saturday, December 31 at 2:00 PM.  There will be a Celebration of Life service to be scheduled at a later date.  Flowers will be accepted, but memorials may be made to Pleasant Grove Baptist Church or a charity of your choice.  Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
