Judith Anne
White Beckstrand
March 23, 1942 – November 4, 2022
Judith Anne Beckstrand, age 80, of Woodlawn, Virginia, died peacefully at home on Friday, November 4, 2022. She was born on Tuesday, March 23, 1942 in Los Angeles, California, to Arthur and Dorothy (nee Wilson and Lewis) White.
She was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and married Shelley M Beckstrand in the Los Angeles Temple on Saturday, September 2, 1961. They have eight children.
Judi was known for her loving and nurturing spirit. As the oldest in her family, she was a second mother to her younger siblings. After marriage, she sacrificed greatly while raising her many children, both natural and adopted, and was everlastingly patient and kind with them.
She valued education, and completed one year of college before getting married and putting those dreams on hold. However, she was determined to earn a degree, and did, graduating with a B.I.S. from Brigham Young University in 1984.
Judi also valued hard work and service. She volunteered countless hours in school, Scout and church activities, and developed many talents to share, particularly in the areas of parenting skills, food storage and cooking, and genealogy and temple work.
Living in several different cities (including San Jose and Hollister, California; Owego, New York; and Woodlawn, Virginia) allowed her influence to be felt by many. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
