Juanita U. Branscome, 83 of Max Meadows, passed away on Thursday, October 10, 2024 at her home. Mrs. Branscome was born in Wythe County to the late Woodrow and Frances Price Umberger.  In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Arthur and Ethel Branscome; great-grandson, Emmett Jax Branscome; brother, George Umberger; sister and spouse, Betty and Buster Wilson; and brother-in-law, Alan Walters.

Juanita loved gardening and flowers.  She enjoyed taking care of the family.  She was also a lifetime member of the Lead Mines Rescue Squad.

Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Wayne Branscome; daughter, Susan Branscome (Stan Jackson); son, Todd Branscome (Kim); grandchildren, Tyler Jones (Ciera Jenkins), Heath Jones, Wyatt Branscome, and Erika Cook (Tanner); sister, Lou Walters; and sister-in-law, Nelda Umberger.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 14, 2024 at Pine Grove Primitive Baptist Church at 2:00 PM with Elder Jerry Nester  officiating.  Burial will follow in the Pine Grove Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the church on Monday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM prior to the funeral service.  Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
