Joyce "Joy" Marie Turman

Joyce “Joy” Marie Turman 74 of Meadows of Dan, VA passed away on Friday September 4, 2026 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born in Patrick County, VA on March 8, 1952 to the late Corby Nester and Opal N. Conner. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband Joseph “Joe” Lee Turman.

She was a loving wife, mom, grandma, great grandma, sister and friend whose love and kindness touched the lives of everyone around her. She cherished every moment spent with her family creating countless memories that they will carry with them forever.

Joy had a special love for gardening and spending time working with her flowers. She could often be found enjoying the simple peace that came from being surrounded by the things she had lovingly grown. She loved sharing from her garden with family and neighbors. She loved her pets Judy, Fuzzy, Sassy and Susie. She also had a fondness for pigs and enjoyed her collection, which became one of the many things that made her uniquely Joy.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Cindy Turman; daughters and sons-in-law, Cristy and Allen Boyd and Sandy and Matt Cesaro; grandchildren and spouses, Joseph and Alexis Turman, Katlyn and Tommy Boyd, Allison and Charlie Page, Tyler Cesaro and Corby Boyd; great grandchildren, Abigail Bennett, Olivia Boyd, Lane Turman, Waylon Boyd, Madeline Turman and Lucy Page; brothers and sisters-in-law, Maynard and Sue Nester and Howard and Donna Nester.

Joy will be remembered for her love of family, her beautiful flowers, her collection of pigs and her love of her pets, and the warmth she brought into the lives of those around her. Though she is no longer with us, the love she gave and the memories she created will continue to bloom in the hearts of those who knew her. She was deeply loved, she will be forever missed, and her memory will live on in all of us who were blessed to call her Mom, Grandma, Great-Grandma, sister and friend.
