Ms. Josie Ruth Bond, 95, a resident of the Norfolk VA/Tidewater area for 75 years, passed away September 7, 2014. Josie was born in Fancy Gap, VA. February 23, 1919 the youngest of thirteen children of the late Garland & Ruth Vass Bond. She is survived by her sons, Rondy (Francis) Carnell, Clayton "Leo" (Linda) Carnell, Clinton (Jackie) Carnell; and daughter Donna (David) McReynolds. Grandchildren, Mary, Clayton Jr., Michelle, Brenda, Cheri, Clinton Jr., Brandon, Matthew, Kiera and Paul. Along with many Great-grandchildren and Great-great grandchildren. Ms. Boyd was predeceased by her son, Eddie, grandson, Randy, Jr., and her siblings Jesse, Mary Jones, Florence Sawyers, Malecia Sawyers, Amanda Hawks, Bessie Kemp, Ada Swecker, Richard, Robert, James, Olav Bond, Etta Nester. The service will be held at Garland Anderson Bond Cemetery in Wythe County, VA. Saturday, September 13, 2014 at 1:00 P.M. A viewing will be Friday from 6-8 P.M. September 12, 2014 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Funeral Home, 1035 North Main Street, Hillsville, VA. In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution to the American Heart Fund.
