Joshua Dale Criner, 25 of Galax, passed away on November 8, 2025. Joshua was born in Galax on August 19, 2000. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Archie Willis Criner and Tommy Brown.

Survivors include his mother, Ronni Criner; father, Joseph D. Tate; siblings, Leann Nichole Tate, Jimmy Dale Tate, Dustin Allen Cooper, and Kaytlyn Paige Russell; grandmothers, Sandy Brown and Janie Criner; special cousins, Matthew Luke Criner and Stella Brook Criner; several other cousins; and many aunts and uncles.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
