Joseph David Staples, 61 of Hillsville, passed away on Saturday, July 22, 2023 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.  Mr. Staples was born in Carroll County to the late Loman and Frieda Martin Staples.  In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two brothers, Anthony Staples and Robert Staples.

Survivors include his wife, Donella Staples; sons, Dave Staples (Beth) and Dayne Staples (Wendy); grandson, Sean Staples; granddaughters, Madison, Emma and Riley Staples; daughter-in-law, Sheena Staples; brothers, Lane Staples (Linda), and Chris Staples; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 30, 2023 from 3:00 until 5:00 PM at the Hillsville Masonic Lodge, located at 707 West Grayson Street, Hillsville, VA 24343. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
