Joseph Warren Montgomery, 74, of Dugspur, Virginia, passed away peacefully at his home on September 30, 2022.

He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He loved camping and hiking through the mountains of Montana. He was a private man and enjoyed living in the quietness of his mountain home. Joe graduated from Virginia Tech and attended the Medical College of Va.

He was the only son of the late Cecil and Mozelle Vass Montgomery. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Shannon Lea Montgomery.

He is survived by his wife, Tina J. Rector, his step-son, Brandon Rector, his step-daughter, Brittani Chapman, son-in-law, John Chapman,  a daughter Shellie M. Roop , son-in-law,  Dennis Roop, and his two sisters Linda Nester and Brenda Poff, brother-in-law,  Blane Poff. His grandchildren, Seth Rector, Ellie Chapman and Abbie Chapman filled him with love and joy.

At Joe's request a private service will be held.  Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
