Joseph (Joe) Joyce, 70, of Hillsville, passed away on Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. Mr. Joyce was born in Carroll County to the late Jimmy Lee and Joanna Largen Joyce. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by one brother John Linwood Joyce. Survivors include his wife Donna V. Joyce of the home; sons and daughters-in-law Jason M. and Tammy Vass, Justin M. Vass, and Jody A. and Brandi Vass all of Hillsville; sister Texas Nester of Hillsville; grandchildren Timothy Connor Vass, Lea Mattison Vass, Kinlee Alexis Vass, Chandler Eli Vass, Arianah Denah Vass, and Lincoln Presley Vass; sister-in-law Glenna Joyce of Woodlawn; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 19, 2012 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 2:00 PM with Pastor Jeremy Hendrick, Pastor Sandy Hendrick, and Elder Timothy McGrady officiating. Burial will follow in the Largen Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, May 19, 2012 beginning at 12:00 PM lasting until service time. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
