Joseph (Joe) Howard Combs, 73, of Hillsville, Virginia, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, April 21, 2025, with his loving wife, Linda Combs by his side.

Joe had a love for trout fishing, the Dallas Cowboys, and Nascar, that he passed down to his three children and their families, Ashley Edmonds, son-in-law, Dustin Edmonds and grandson, Cash Edmonds; Chris Combs, daughter-in-law, Lindsey Combs and grandson, Dalton Combs; and Felicia White, son-in-law, Jesse White as well as his furbaby, Ottie.

He was preceded in death by his father, Carlie Combs; sister, Lita Faye Combs and four brothers, Donald Combs, Darnell Combs, Donnie Combs, and J.C. Combs; brother-in-law, Jerry Hill; and sister-in-law, Kathy Combs.

His surviving siblings are sister, Jessie Hill of Westfield, NC; brother, Bobby Combs and sister-in-law, Wanda of Floyd, VA; sister, Darlene Baker of Fries, VA; and sister-in-law, Teresa Combs of Galax, VA.  Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 30, 2025 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 2:00 PM with Pastor Jeff Pickett officiating. Burial will follow in the Coleman Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM prior to the funeral service.  Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
