Joseph "Joe" Aaron Gwyn, 17, of Cana, passed away on Wednesday, June 3, 2015. Joe was born in Mount Airy, NC on July 21, 1997. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Ray Gwyn; paternal grandparents, Velma and David Gwyn; step maternal grandfather, Paul Edwards; and maternal great grandmother, Vida Isabel Turman;. Survivors include his mother and step father, Lucretia T. and Garry Ayers of Cana; siblings and spouses, Ashley and James Hiatt of Cana, Brandon Gwyn of Mount Airy, NC, Kassie Gwyn of Cana, Chad and Dreama Gwyn of Mount Airy, NC, and Rebecca Gwyn of Pilot Mtn. NC; step brothers and sisters, Renee Inman of Cana, Candas Grimes of Patrick County, Lee and Lauren Ayers of Mount Airy, NC, and Carlee Ayers of Fancy Gap; maternal grandparents, Cecil Dale and René Turman of Dugspur and Lois Jean Edwards of Fayettville, NC; maternal great grandfather, Reaford Turman of Hillsville; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Shane Edwards, Jesse Collins, Isabella Collins and Clifford Dale Turman. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, June 7, 2015 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 2:00 PM with Rev. Timmy Crotts officiating. Burial will follow in the Cox Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, June 6, 2015 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
