**THIS IS LISTED AS A COURTESY ANNOUNCEMENT FOR THE SLUSHER FAMILY** Mr. Jordan Daniel Slusher, 21, of Gastonia went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 9, 2012. He was born May 17, 1991 in Charlotte, the son of Randall Ray and Melissa Johnson Slusher. Jordan attended Cramerton Christian Academy and was a 2009 Honors Graduate of South Point High School in Belmont, NC, where he ran cross country all four years of high school. He was a student at UNC Charlotte, majoring in Religious Studies and Psychology and would have been graduating in December. While attending UNCC he was active in Student Ambassador Association, Ratio Christi, Honors College, and Intramural Sports. Jordan was a true UNCC 49er through and through (Uh-huh!). Jordan attended and volunteered at Elevation Church in Uptown Charlotte. He specialized in media arts for church services. Jordan loved his Lord and had a passion for all people, sharing his faith with everyone whom he came in contact. He experienced the highlight of his Christian walk last year when he was given the opportunity to participate in an archaeological dig in the Holy Land of Israel with a group from UNCC. In addition to his parents Randall and Melissa of Gastonia, Jordan is survived by his sister, Ashley Slusher Devers and husband Steven of Colonial Heights, VA; Godparents, Tommy and Joyce Slusher of Hillsville, VA; maternal grandparents, Joe and Ann Johnson of Rockwell, NC; and paternal grandmother Ruth Slusher of Hillsville, VA. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and many close friends. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Donald Price Slusher. A funeral service will be held 2:00pm, Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at Oak Grove Baptist Church, 9000 Mt. Holly Rd., Charlotte, NC 28012 with Pastor Joe Johnson officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00pm to 1:30pm, prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow the service at Evergreen, A Quiet Place.
