Johnny Tate, 63 of Austinville, passed away on Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at Bristol Regional Medical Center. Mr. Tate was born in Carroll County to the late Andrew Jackson Tate and Carrie Goins Tosh. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a daughter, Tracy Tate and a brother, David Tate.

Survivors include his daughter, Teresa Scott of Asheboro, NC; special companion of 18 years, Kay Riggins of Austinville; brother and sister-in-law, Jimmy and Buffie Tosh of Roanoke; sister and brother-in-law, Wanda and Doug Fulton of Max Meadows; six grandchildren; three special nieces; one special nephew; and a special family friend, Jennifer Tosh.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 18, 2017 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 2:00 PM with Marvin Tate, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the Fowler Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 12:00 until 2:00 PM prior to the funeral service. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
