Johnny Hicks, 83, of Hillsville, passed away on Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at Twin County Regional Hospital. Mr. Hicks was born in West Virginia to the late John and Fannie Hicks. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by a great granddaughter, Olivia Grace Gray. Survivors include his children and spouses, Laura and Sonny Duran of Albuquerque, NM, John Hicks of Winston Salem, NC, Sue and Roy Odum of Dobson, NC, and Tony and Jean Knutson of Calgary, Canada; several brothers and sisters; six grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, February 9, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with military rites by the Hillsville V.F.W. Post 1115. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 until 2:00 PM prior to the service Burial will follow in Liberty Hill Cemetery. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
