John Phillip Marchio, best known as Jack, was born on April 10, 1942, to Joseph F. Marchio and Dorothy L. (Eldridge) Marchio in North Adams, MA. Jack passed away on October 28, 2025, at the age of 83, at his home in Fancy Gap, VA.

Jack is survived by his wife of 59 yrs, Jeannine, his children; Traci (Brian) and Eric (Erica), his sisters; Patti and Jean, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Jack spent his youth in North Adams, graduating Drury High School before traveling the world with the United States Marine Corp.

He studied Computer Sciences at Florida Technical College in Jacksonville, FL. He began his career with RCA at the Kennedy Space Center, FL and ultimately retired from Harris Corp in Melbourne, FL in 2008. The span of his career was spent in the aerospace and national defense industries with many highlights along the way.

Following his retirement, he, and wife Jeannine, split their time between Cocoa, FL and Fancy Gap, VA. Throughout his life, Jack enjoyed many hobbies including spending time at the beach, old muscle cars, bodybuilding, golf, cornhole, singing in the choir, sitting on the porch of their VA home looking at the mountains, satisfying his sweet tooth and most of all sharing his sense of humor through jokes, teasing and pranks with family and friends. He was actively involved in his church at both Prince of Peace in Fl and First Christian Church in VA.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2025 at the Hillsville Christian Church at 1:00 PM with Pastor Ron Schwarz and Pastor Michael Cook officiating.  A second service will be held at Prince of Peace in Melbourne, FL at a date to be determined. In lieu of flowers the family requests a donation to Gentiva Hospice Care or a dementia related charity.
