John Stanley Kinder, 69 of Hillsville, passed away on April 21, 2008 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital due to a short illness. Mr. Kinder was born January 28, 1939 to the late Clyde W. Kinder and Stella V. Pruett Kinder. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by both parents, two brothers Clyde B. Kinder and Douglas Ray Kinder; and one niece Connie Sue Kinder Beavers. Survivors include two nephews Robert Kinder of North Carolina and Douglas D. Kinder of Warrenton, VA; two sisters-in-law Shirley G. Kinder Rose of North Tazewell, VA and Evelyn Oliver of North Carolina; and all of the staff at Southwest Virginia Training Center.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 23, 2008 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 1:00 PM with Pastor Russell Payne officiating. Burial will follow in the Grandview Memorial Gardens in Bluefield, VA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour before the services.
