John William Dickens, 61 of Hillsville passed away Thursday, February 9, 2006 in Maryland. Mr. Dickens is survived by his wife Teresa Dickens of the home; sons John McCoy of Roanoke, Ricky Lee Dickens of Roanoke and Stephen Isaac Dickens of Hillsville; foster son Andrew; sisters Brenda Porter of Roanoke, Wanda Jones of Cana, and Donna Reece of Hillsville; and brother Bruce Dickens of Hillsville.

Funeral services will be held Monday, February 13, 2006 at the Woodlawn Pentecostal Holiness Church at 11:00 A.M. with the Rev. Harvey Carico officiating. Burial will follow in the Dickens Cemetery. Military Rites will be conducted by the Hillsville V.F.W. Post 1115. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. prior to the funeral service.
