John Michael DeHart, 54 of Cameron, NC, passed away on Sunday, December 22, 2013. John was born in Arlington, Virginia to the late John Isam and Betty L. DeHart. Survivors include his wife, April Lynn Stone DeHart of the home; sister, Regina Lynn DeHart of Willis; brother and sister-in-law, Thomas W. and Nancy A. DeHart of Ruther Glen, VA; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Roy L. and Martha A. Stone of Cana; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law and spouses, Terry Leonard of Lambsburg, Lotti Green of Independence, Darlene and Joe Ardito of Hillsville, and Jody and Stephanie Stone of Shakopee, Minnesota; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved four-pawed children, Hershey and Spice. John graduated from Floyd County High School in 1977 where he played football. He was Retired Military U.S. Army and served at the UN in Croatia. John and April traveled the world and he had a second career as a long haul truck driver with Old Dominion Trucking. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, December 28, 2013 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel from 7:00 until 8:00 PM with Rev. Jeff Dalton officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 until 7:00 PM prior to the service.
