John C. Dalton, 80 of Hillsville, passed away in Roanoke Memorial Hospital April 6, 2010. He was preceded in death by his beautiful wife of 25 years Helen Rorrer Dalton. He leaves behind four sisters Lou Fern Hall & husband Bill, Mary Lee Reese, Mozelle Agnew, and Mikki Webb all of Hillsville; five step children & spouses Mary & Gary Kiser of Dublin, Tony & Sandra Rorrer of Dublin, Carol & Darrell McDaniel of Parisburg, VA, Peggy & J.B. Snider of Pen Brook, VA, and Phillip Rorrer of Georgia; brother-in-law & spouse Hensel & Erma Underwood of Dublin; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Dalton retired from the Maintenance Department at Virginia Tech. He and his wife moved from Christiansburg in 1991. Mr. Dalton was an avid bowler on both a Christiansburg and Galax League for many years. He is leaving behind many special friends.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 8, 2010 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 2:00 PM with Bill Akers, from Little Creek Pentecostal Holiness Church of Dublin where John and Helen were members, and Sanford Hendrick of Crooked Oak Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in the C.C. Webb Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 1:00 PM until service time.
