John D. Brown, 77 of Hillsville, passed away on Sunday, January 10, 2010 at his home. Mr. Brown was born in Carroll County to the late Odell & Nora Mitchell Brown. He is survived by his wife Magdalene Maggie Brown of the home; daughter Melinda Comer of Mt. Airy, NC; grandson Cory Dean Comer; and siblings Mildred Webb, Archie Brown, Horace Brown and Helen Dalton all of Hillsville.

Funeral services will be on Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with Rev. Scott Robertson-Gouge officiating. Burial will follow in the Gardner Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday one hour prior to the funeral service.
