September 8, 1956 – January 16, 2024
John J. Conley, Fancy Gap, VA passed away Tuesday, January 16, 2024 at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Hospital. And by his side holding his hand was his wife Judy Conley.
John was born September 8, 1956 in Ticonderoga, NY.
He retired in June of 2017 from Clinton Community College, Plattsburgh, New York as head of Building and Grounds. He graduated from Moriah High School 1974, Moriah, NY, where he played football.
He is preceded in death by his father James Conley and mother Catherine (Brewer) Conley.
John is survived by his loving wife Judy Conley, daughter Jessica Conley and stepdaughters Tonya (Ted) Perry and Jessica (Corey) Houser. Granddaughters, Elizah, Willow, grandsons, Anthony, Elias, and Hunter. Brother's Mike Conley (Trudy) Lincoln Conley. Nephew Tanner and niece Morgan Conley. Cousin Stephen Cywin who spent time hunting with John and many other cousins.
John enjoyed life - hunting, fishing, four-wheeling, and visiting with neighbors.
John served in the Navy six years and Army National Guard 10 years. He helped to form Chapter 19-3 CVMA (COMBAT VETERANS MOTORCYCLE ASSOCIATION known as the Ghost Chapter.
John will be buried with military honors at Fort Jackson National Cemetery, Columbia, SC
He truly was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
John gave his life to the Lord and went home to be with Jesus.
