John (Cobra Jet) Douglass, 61, of Hillsville was a loving husband, father, and uncle. He was loved by many. He worked at Volvo Trucks for the past 37 years. He enjoyed spending his free time camping and rebuilding cars in the garage with his son, brother and friends. John was preceded in death by his Father: Urban Ray Douglass, Mother: Vira Baker Douglass, Brother: Wally Kienast, and Brother: Roger (Yankee) Douglass. He is survived by his Wife: Veronica Douglass, Son: Robert VanNess, Niece: Wendy Kienest, Brother: Ray Douglass, Sister-in-Law: Leona Douglass, Niece: Denise Fitzgerald & Nephew: Ray Douglass, Jr. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2013 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 2:00 PM with Mr. Jeff Stout officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, December 12, 2013 from 5:00 until 7:00 PM. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
