Joe Conard Staples, 90, of Hillsville, passed away on Friday, June 14, 2013 at Trinity Mission of Hillsville. Mr. Staples was born in Carroll County to the late Solon and Ethel Hicks Staples. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Margie Sue Staples; son, Perry Staples; sisters, Betty Sue Hodges and Annaleen Cochran; and brother, Carl Staples. Survivors include his sons, Michael Conrad Staples and Kenneth Paul Staples both of Woodlawn; sisters and brother-in-law, Lola Wolfe of Pulaski and Nelligene and Kenneth Hollandsworth, of Raleigh, NC; brothers and sisters-in-law, Horace Staples of Hillsville, Edmund and Imolene Staples of Hillsville, Jay and June Staples of Willis, and James and Joyce Staples of Hillsville; and grandson, Ryan Perry Staples. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, June 16, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Dalton Hill Christian Church with Rev. Jason Simpkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Dalton Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel on Saturday, June 15, 2013 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
