Joe B. Smith, 86 of Hillsville, passed away on Tuesday, June 23, 2009 at his residence. Mr. Smith is survived by his wife Norma M. Smith of the home; stepchildren & spouses Marcia & Hal Kinlaw of St. Pauls, NC, Cindi Fisher of Atlanta, GA, Jeff & Michelle Todd of Atlanta, GA and Monty & Kelly Todd of Birmingham, AL, nieces & spouses Brenda and Joe Bishop, Dianne & Carson Dalton, and Carol Smith; and five step grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 26, 2009 at 7:00 PM at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with Pastor David Bays officiating. Burial will be on Saturday, June 27, 2009 at 11:00 AM in the Smith-Lindsey Cemetery. Military Rites will be conducted by the Hillsville V.F.W. Post 1115. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 6:00 until 7:00 PM prior to the funeral service.
