Joe Paul Plummer, 82 of Woodlawn, passed away on Monday, November 27, 2023 at Waddell Nursing and Rehab.  Mr. Plummer was born in Grayson County, Virginia to the late Fleet and Virginia Adams Plummer.  In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by brothers, William "Bill" Plummer, Robert B. Plummer, and Jack Plummer; and nephew, Joseph Frank Hawks.

Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Arlene Plummer; step-children, Jeanie Martin (Jimmy Carpenter), Jason Martin (Melissa Edwards), and Robert Martin (Heather); grandchildren, Raegan Lindsey Carico (Ethan), Taylor Roberts (Spencer), Brandon Martin, and Erin Martin; great-grandchildren, Hudson Carico, Haisley Carico, Leah Roberts and Mary Roberts; sister, Diann Plummer Hawks; sister-in-law, Betty Thomas Plummer; several special cousins; nephew, Tommy Hawks; and niece, Ashley Plummer Goad.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 4, 2023 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 2:00 PM.  Burial will follow in the C.C. Webb Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted by the Hillsville V.F.W. Post 1115.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM prior to the funeral service.  Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
