Joe Willard Midkiff 83 of Galax passed away on Friday, April 9, 2021 at his home. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Maggie Midkiff; grandparents, Joseph and Mallie Midkiff, and Guy and Mary Ellen Nelson; sibling's, Opal Jones, Guida Midkiff, Nancy Carol Reece, Sandra Gunter, Lonnie Midkiff, Johnny Midkiff, Jerry Midkiff, and Jimmy Midkiff.

Mr. Midkiff graduated Hillsville High School in 1957 and retired after 35 years with the Department of Defense.

Survivors include his brother, Michael Midkiff; sisters, Mary Ann Midkiff, and Debbie Midkiff and Eric Matthews. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with Rev. Wendell Horton officiating. Burial will follow in the Webb-Skyview Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 13, 2021 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the funeral home. Military Rites will be conducted by Hillsville V.F.W. Post 1115.
