Joe Dean McGee, 75 of Hillsville, passed away on Wednesday, August 31, 2011 at his home. Mr. McGee was born in Wythe County to the late Clarence and Della Miller McGee. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his wife Mildred Faye McGee. He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law Rickey and Bonnie McGee of Palm Coast, FL and Donald and Carolyn McGee of Union Bridge, MD; daughter and son-in-law Debra and Samuel Payne of Hillsville; sister Shirley Wimmer; brothers Lester McGee, Robert McGee, Paul McGee, Denton McGee, and Channie McGee; grandchildren Terri McGee, Adam McGee, Melinda McGee, Amy McGee, Jason and Shelly Fender, and Sheena Lineberry; and great grandchildren Hunter Fender, Gage Fender and Clint Lineberry.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 3, 2011 at 5:00 PM at the Thomas Alderman Cemetery. The family will be meeting at Debbies home at 247 Springwillow Drive after the graveside service.
